TH&B is a core alliance of visual artists with an affinity for setting up exhibitions in unlikely spaces. Taking their name from the now defunct railway that once connected Toronto, Hamilton and Buffalo, TH&B embraces blue collar sensibilities, post-industrial materials and punk rock attitude. It sets out to bridge area codes, and proposes Hamilton as a parallel Brooklyn to Toronto’s alt-Manhattan. Despite the fin de siècle blemish of industry, the city retains both its proud underdog status and a stubborn sense of place. We see the creative possibilities of entropy. TH&B sees the untapped potential of the city itself as a nexus for site-responsive activity, and sets out to facilitate a free exchange of cultural capital.
